Description
How to deal with and remove mold on walls?
Mold on the walls in the interiors of apartments and family houses still bothers many households. There are several reasons for the appearance of mold, but the main ones are high humidity and thermal bridges (construction errors) in buildings. Mold begins to appear mainly with the arrival of winter and does not make any difference between a new building, an insulated house or an older building without insulation.
Molds primarily pose a health risk to people who live there and are exposed to them over a long period of time.
There are many proven ways to get rid of mold or prevent it. And it all depends on your choice.
We offer the product PROTEKT V1920 FAÇADE CLEANER, designed for disinfection and cleaning of mold. It is a product that has a wider use for both exterior and interior and has several practical benefits:
- does not contain chlorine, so the surface does not become salty and does not smell
- does not bleach the surface, so there is no risk of damage to e.g. clothing or surrounding materials, plants
- has a long-term preventive effect
- eliminates mold in interiors (plaster, masonry, concrete)
- cleans outdoor facades and surfaces from mold, algae, moss, bacteria
- can also be used for interlocking paving, sculptures, roofing, monuments
WARNING: Use biocidal products safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF MOLD FROM WALLS AND CEILINGS
- Thoroughly coat or spray the mold and its immediate surroundings with PROTEKT V1920 FAÇADE CLEANER. Repeat the coating or spraying. Never remove the mold before applying the cleaner!
- Let the cleaner act (dry) for 24 hours.
- Moisten the treated surface, preferably again with PROTEKT FAÇADE CLEANER V1920. This will prevent spores from flying in the air and spreading the mold to the surroundings. We recommend using appropriate protective equipment such as a respirator, goggles and rubber gloves. The main thing is to mechanically remove/wipe the mold from the wall using a sponge, brush or rag soaked in this cleaner.
- The surface needs to be allowed to dry thoroughly. In case of a more severe mold infestation, it is advisable to repeat this procedure (point 3).
- A suitable primer is applied to the cleaned, disinfected and dry surface, e.g. EKOPEN or PENETRACE S2802A, and after the primer has dried (minimum 6 hours), a suitable paint is applied.
- If the cause of mold formation is a thermal bridge (colder part of the wall, corner of the wall), a possible solution is to use the special thermal insulation paint TERMO V2200.
WHY DOES MOLD REMOVAL NOT WORK?
Failure to follow individual steps for disinfection and cleaning.
Disinfection needs to be done properly and preferably repeatedly.
It is advisable to finally paint areas where mold occurs repeatedly with anti-mold paint.

How to properly paint wood so that it lasts like new for years?
A wooden fence, pergola or garden furniture is constantly exposed to sun, rain, moisture and frost. Without proper protection, the wood turns grey, cracks, and is attacked by mould or wood-destroying fungi. A properly selected coating with fungicidal protection and regular maintenance can significantly extend the life of the wood and preserve its beautiful appearance for many years.
